Check a running route for hunting areas
Planning a trail run or hike? See before you leave whether your route crosses a hunting area or closure day: without guessing from outdated maps.
Check a route before you leave
A hunting area on the map is not automatically closed. Open a route, choose your sport and departure time, then run Pre-Flight. For each crossing, read whether a closure was reported and which source was available.
Hunting area or closed path?
A hunting territory provides context. A reported closure applies to a place and period. RouteRadar distinguishes them in the findings; always follow signs and official instructions on site.
Coverage and freshness
In Wallonia, RouteRadar uses available SPW hunting data. Other regions and cross-border routes may have different or missing sources. Results show source and coverage status; no alert does not prove a path is open.
Check the official source too
Wallonia's ChasseOnWeb shows hunting territories and dates. The SPW dataset gives each extract date; that is not a guarantee of a current closure status on your path.

How to check your route
- Upload your GPX or pick a library route Drop your GPX on the home page, or open a route in the Library. You do not need to publish anything: private uploads stay yours.
- Choose sport and planned start Set trail run or hike and your planned date and time. Hunting checks use that passage window: especially where closure days apply per area.
- Run Analyze (Pre-Flight) RouteRadar tests your route for active hunting zones and other default checks for your sport.
- Read map and findings Each finding says blocked, warning or information and shows the affected route segment. Some hunting areas provide context only; check whether the source confirms a closure for your planned time.
- Check the ground and share if needed Signs and local notices always win. Use Share in the route header to send a snapshot link to your club or buddy: not a live refresh.
Pre-Flight is not a hunting permit or clearance. Seasons and datasets change; an empty map does not prove the path is open.
